Movie time – ‘Cheeni Kum’

Last sunday was a movie day. I decided to watch the movie even the severe headache I had. My headache is getting along as part of my life. The movie of the day was ‘Cheeni Kum’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu.

It’s a maturely written film with the best two characters – Amitabh and Tabu – their outstanding performances and some classic moments. The movie preaches the fact that there is no age barrier to fall in love. Amitabh who is aged more than Tabu’s father does the small cute things to impress her – of course never admitting it. Tabu – the beautiful irresistible great actress plays the bravo role here. There is a fantastic moment where she criticizes Bachchan for being too forward, for daring, like all men would, to ask a girl for a date assuming she’s available, just because she’s smiled at him a few times. The tension is certain as Bachchan falls silent and so do you. But for the timely remark from Tabu – ‘I hope you won’t be late,’ makes it a nice comedy confirming the date with a ‘caught ya’ smile.

This is one of the finest performances to date making the crowd aware of the beautiful concept summarized in a less tensed and humorous way.

Cheers

As the title suggests "sugar less romance" is what the movie portrays… sometimes ppl fall in love even though there is no sugar coated lovey dovey words said to each other.
