Global Warming….

Did you know hear about all these discussions going on about global warming.. oh my.. its quite alarming..

Rising levels of carbon dioxide could trigger a sharp and painful change in the Earth’s climate.

Caribbean tourism is directly and deeply threatened by the rise in global temperatures. Rising sea temperatures, for example, are blamed for a massive die-off last summer in Caribbean coral reefs; some corals that had been alive since the time of Christopher Columbus died. Already this year, water temperatures are higher than normal in the Caribbean Sea, and experts worry that corals weakened last summer won’t make it through this one. If you snorkel or scuba dives in the Caribbean, it’s impossible not to notice the massive bleaching of the region’s coral reefs, which strips the formations of their vibrant colors. Bleaching is a sign of sickness; if all the corals that are now bleached die off, it would be a major catastrophe for Caribbean tourism and the environment, particularly the many tropical fish species that rely on the reefs for survival.

Global warming plays an obvious role in rising sea temperatures; hotter ocean water also causes more hurricanes, the biggest weather bugaboo for travelers heading to the Caribbean.
A study by Colorado College has projected that global warming could have a major impact on the state’s ski areas by 2050 due to loss of snow cover as temperatures rise. The most dramatic projections include an 82% loss of “Spring snowpack” in the area that includes Telluride ski resort by 2085, whilst Eagle County, home of Vail and Beaver Creek could be down 57%. Most other major resorts including Breckenridge, Crested Butte and Steamboat could lose 50% of their snow cover, whilst Aspen – one of the resorts that is most actively publicizing the threat of global warming to the ski industry – could see a 43% loss.

The states, joined by environmental groups, sued the Environmental Protection Agency over its decision not to regulate carbon dioxide pollution as a contributor to global warming.
New York, California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin filed the lawsuit in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit
And you know what..

A new study of how much greenhouse gas is released into the atmosphere by the production of food shows that the difference between a meat-based and plant-based diet amounts to the same as driving an SUV versus a small sedan. It turns out there’s something anyone can do right now to make a big impact on global warming, says one climate researcher: Eat more veggies.

Lets do what we can do to save mother Earth and ourself …

Cheers,

I would like some point-to links to stats you throw here. Especially, I\’m interested in the study which says more greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere during veg-food production.
